Li Haotong spent Thursday night in the toilet. If all goes well, he may spend Sunday night in the Butler Cabin.
Yes, in one of the more surprising interviews given at Augusta National this week, after firing an under-par 67 on Friday, Li admitted he had been up the night before.
“I went to the toilet last night many times,” Li said Friday afternoon. “And this morning when I got to the golf course, (I was) still feeling really bad and kind of, like, (living) on the toilet.”
Li was about to start practice on Friday, thinking that if he still felt sick after a few holes, he would just walk out of the tournament. Then he began to walk the most beautiful golf course in America, feeling the weather of Georgia and climbing the hills of Augusta National.
What? Want to know what cures dizziness better than medicine? Birdies at Augusta National.

“I kind of felt good,” he said Friday. “I’m so glad I survived today.”
