Tax Day is April 15 this year, meaning you have less than a month to file without penalty or needing to file an extension. The cost of filing with the tax service increases the longer you wait, and if you’re like me—and have complicated taxes—you’ve been procrastinating. Take this as your cue to submit now. TurboTax currently has a federal and state filing offer for just $150 with Full Professional Service for new customers, but the deal is good through March 18th.
TurboTax has three levels of file services: DIYwhere you sign up for step-by-step instructions; Expert Helpwhere you can get help from tax experts throughout the process and have an expert review it before submitting; and Full Expert Servicewhere you can get your taxes done entirely by a local tax professional. Prices vary by tier, but Full Expert Service isn’t cheap—the agency starts at $89 to $129, and the final price varies depending on the complexity of your taxes. Additionally, state taxes are an additional fee of $59 per state, so if you have multiple forms and/or states, this flat-fee plan can translate to significant savings.
On that note, if you are a a small businessman or have a complicated tax situation, Full Service Expert is probably worth a look. Having a professional file for you is ideal for those with S Corporations and partnerships; TurboTax will match you with a small business tax professional who knows your industry to maximize your deductions. With this service, you can choose to submit your taxes online or in person. A tax professional will take care of everything about your taxes, signature and file for you. Plus, you’ll only need to pay $150 after your taxes are filed.
This offer only applies if a TurboTax professional did not write to you last year. If not, the final price varies depending on the complexity of your taxes and forms, and the status is charged separately.
To get this program, start opening with Complete TurboTax Expert Service or select “prefer to delegate to a professional” when prompted. If you’re eligible (meaning you didn’t have a TurboTax professional file taxes for your 2024 personal tax return), your rebate will be applied when you file by 11:59 pm ET on March 18.
