This was the most determined match Cozens has played all week, refusing to be denied on numerous net drives, and fighting for every inch of ground in space. After a corner kick by Rasmus Dahlin, Cozens scored himself and redirected Brady Tkachuk’s cross with one hand on the stick for a 1-1 tie. The offense had been in poor form for several straight games before Thursday, and Cozens took it upon himself to lead them from the outside, making six shots on goal and four rebounds. He had a trainer under each arm being helped to the room after a gutsy block midway through the third period, but returned moments later. That must have been a thorn. It cannot be understated how motivated he looked from the puck drop to the buzzer; Cozens quickly beat defenders on a solo run, and immediately went end-to-end for a near highlight-reel goal in the third.
