President Trump continues to give mixed answers about what victory in Iran might look like. The panelists are on Washington Week With The Atlantic joined last night to discuss this, and more.
“In a tactical sense, there is no doubt that a major military force is being brought in and Iran is being degraded,” said David Ignatius, a foreign affairs writer at Washington Posthe said last night. But “as I watch this process of a weak enemy being beaten and beaten, I remember the war in Gaza.” After two years of fighting, “Hamas still controls most of the Palestinians in Gaza,” Ignatius said. “Even with all that power, Israel couldn’t win—and I think that’s what we’re all worried about.”
