A woman has been charged after allegedly poisoning herself and a toddler in Brisbane’s south.
The 43-year-old woman poisoned a 10-year-old girl at Yarrabilba in Logan on March 12, according to police.
Both became ill and vomited before being taken to Logan Hospital.
The child was discharged the same day, but the woman remained in hospital until Saturday, when she was released into police custody.
Child protection officials charged him with one count of attempted murder.
On Sunday, police refused to confirm whether the child was the woman’s daughter, but noted that they were known to each other, and that the alleged poisoning was being treated as an incident of domestic violence.
The woman was remanded in custody and due to appear at Beenleigh Crown Court on May 12.
