Fears are spreading that America’s commitment to implementing the commitments that underpin NATO and other international alliances is faltering, Ignatius said last night. “The NATO umbrella is deteriorating, and I don’t think the Americans appreciate how dangerous that is,” he said. “Other countries will go their own way.”
