Mexico makes the home fans happy to advance to the round of 16 of the World Cup with a win over Ecuador

Co-hosts Mexico looked unstoppable in the first half after beating Ecuador 2-0 on Tuesday to advance to the last 16 of the World Cup.

The Mexicans will play again in Mexico City against the winner of Wednesday’s clash between England and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Capitalizing on the support of the fans, Mexico looked unstoppable in the first 45 minutes of the match, which started an hour later than originally scheduled due to bad weather.

The hosts got the lead in the 22nd minute through Julian Quinones, who scored the first goal of the tournament this year.

Quinones latched onto the ball and into the box, cutting down the right before firing a powerful shot into the near post.

Raul Jimenez scored the second goal in the 31st minute after a defensive mess from the opponents.
