Most of the people who use the Community Center live in nearby hotel accommodations that don’t have long-term care facilities, said Lowertown Community Resource Center executive director Matthew Beutel. Without kitchens or laundry facilities, many rely on microwave meals and even wash dishes in their hotel room bathrooms. He said the Housing Association is helping to fill those gaps by providing places for cooking, laundry and gathering.
