Balogun’s ban was lifted by Fifa, allowing the American forward to play against Belgium

Folarin Balogun’s one-game suspension was lifted by Fifa on Sunday, allowing the forward to play in the United States’ World Cup round of 16 match against Belgium on Monday.

“The enforcement of match suspensions has been suspended for a one-year trial period,” Fifa he said on Sunday.

“If Folarin Balogun commits another violation of the same nature and gravity during the probationary period, the suspension will be sought and the penalty enforced without prejudice to any additional penalty imposed for the new violation.”

The U.S. Soccer Federation said it would not make Balogun available for comment on Sunday.

President of the United States Donald Trump Sunday thanked Fifa for suspending Balogun’s red card.
