Democrats have been looking to win races in states like Maine, Michigan, Ohio, and Alaska in hopes of flipping at least four seats in the Senate during the upcoming midterm elections, Adam Harris, host of Atlantic Radiohe explained last night. But the party’s conflict over Platner suggests that Democrats may have learned “the wrong lesson from 2020 and 2024,” he says. They were “looking for an exemplary candidate who can win back marginalized white male voters who may have thought they had been defeated by President Trump.”
