The group did not immediately return a request for comment.
Parts of the report are based on historical examples of Cuba’s relationship with left-wing groups in the United States, including the Black Panthers and the Weather Underground, organizations that were most active in the 1960s and 1970s. Other parts of the report deal with Cuba’s support for left-wing groups in South America in the 1980s.
The report draws a line from these events to the alleged influence of Cuba on contemporary political life in the United States. “Many of the most important upheavals in recent American political history – from the George Floyd riots to the rise of Antifa to the explosion of terrorist movements on American campuses – can be attributed, in some way, to the shape, or influence, and influence of Cuba,” the report concludes.
The report does not state Cuba’s actions as a response to the operations of the United States itself, which has sought to overthrow the Cuban government through military action, assassinations, sanctions, and political pressure, including the 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion.
