Luke Beveridge says he is challenging his players to reach for the stars against Fremantle next week after beating Richmond by 57 points at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night.
The Bulldogs sit outside the top six on percentage, level on points with Melbourne, and now face top-flight Fremantle in Perth.
“I mean, we’ve seen what Fremantle have been able to do this year, and part of the message tonight was, ‘yeah we’ve got to take on Richmond, they’ve thrown us stumps where you know it doesn’t matter if they miss, they’re going to throw everything at us, but we’ve got to get ready to do things tonight that we’ve got to do at the top’ Foxty Beve next week.
“We just got to the point … we didn’t dominate the game, although the scoreboard was good for us.
“So, they won’t celebrate too hard, we have to recover well, we will go to Perth, we will go a day early, and we see it as a big test for us.
“I always talk to the boys about how much growth I believe they have left in them, and that can’t be underrated, but we have to reach for the stars and stretch it.”
