My breast pocket it’s more of a mobile workstation than a service provider. On any given day, it brings 16 inches laptop computer, noise canceling headphones, chargermine daily plannera a bottle of waterand whatever equipment I’m testing that week. Most leather totes look great on day one, but few are built to withstand the rigors of transporting thousands of dollars worth of technology every day.
That’s why Leatherology surprised me.
After months of bouncing between the Mia Horizontal Tote, Transit Travel Tote, and Large Zippered Downtown Tote, I found myself thinking less about the leather—although it’s excellent—and more about how each bag is purpose-built to fit a specific workflow.
But the first thing you notice, of course, is the skin. Leatherology uses semi-aniline, drum-dyed leather that’s soft and supple, making it feel like it’s been broken in from day one without being overly stylish.

The materials are clean, the branding is subtle, and the totes don’t feel fancy, which I appreciate. These bags look expensive because the quality of the materials and craftsmanship speaks for itself, not because there is a fancy logo stamped on it. And if you want something more personal, each model can be monogrammed.
As a tech reviewer, however, I find that aesthetics only go so far. What impressed me the most about these bags was their functionality, something I can’t say about many luxury bags. The straps stayed in place even when I loaded up with big bags and gear. The interior is well organized, restrained cables and accessories from being lost in a single, cavernous room, yet they don’t feel over-designed. Each bag is sturdy and secure enough to protect your valuables.

Built Better Than It Looks
The Mia Horizontal Tote ($330) it’s the most stable of the three and has become my go-to weekend bag. Its wide view is perfect for farmer’s market runs, shopping trips, or afternoons working at a coffee shop when I don’t need all my desk setup. Turn On My, headphonessweaters, and small essentials all fit easily with extra space. Two interior pockets kept accessories close at hand, while a removable leather pouch became my dedicated home for my card holder and lip balm. The magnetic closure allows for easy access during everyday activities, but because it doesn’t have a dedicated laptop sleeve or zippered top, I wouldn’t use it as a work bag for my travels.
That’s it Transit Tote ($465) enters. This is the bag that feels like it’s made for business trips, where a personal product often resembles your office. It has two exterior pockets, nine interior pockets, two zippered compartments, and a padded laptop sleeve that fits up to 16 inch laptop. I could separate the charger, passports, and toilets in organized, well-planned spaces. Hidden trolley arms slide up rolling cargoand a zippered top adds an extra layer of security at airports. Between the short leather handles and the long shoulder straps, it’s also comfortable to carry through the stops without constantly changing your grip. Additionally, it feels heavier duty than the Mia Horizontal, whose straps sometimes worry they can come off when the bag is overstuffed. There’s also a foldable bottom gusset with a removable support panel that helps the bag maintain its streamlined silhouette. During my testing, it fit snugly under the airline seat, but it’s worth verifying measurements with your specific aircraft.
