The US president has called European leaders cowards for refusing to support his war with Iran
US President Donald Trump has shared a comedy that shows British Prime Minister Keir Starmer being afraid to talk to him on the phone. The move has come after Trump named European NATO members “cowards” and described Starmer as “No Winston Churchill” for not joining his war with Iran.
The skit is from the UK version of US comedy show Saturday Night Live, which premiered on Sky One at the weekend.
In the opening episode, Starmer, played by George Fouracres, is shown in Downing Street with his deputy David Lammy, played by Hammed Animashaun, when the phone rings.
“Oh golly – what if Donald yells at me? What am I going to say, Lammy?” the subject asks before answering the phone and hanging up abruptly. “Oh sod horrible, horrible, weird president. Why is he so hard to talk to?” he adds.

“Sir, be honest and tell him that we cannot send another ship to the Strait of Hormuz,” Lammy says, before asking if the prime minister is scared “war or this call.”
“Is there no way I can do both? I just want to make her happy, Lammy. You don’t understand me like I do—I can change her,” Starmer responds.
Trump reposted the piece on his Social Reality network without comment. The leaders finally spoke by phone on Sunday, Downing Street said “They agreed that reopening the Strait of Hormuz is necessary to ensure stability in the global energy market.”
On Friday, the British government said it had allowed US forces to use British bases to launch strikes against Iran. Trump claimed that England “It should act very quickly” and once again pleaded with European countries to help police the Strait of Hormuz.
