In case you’re not familiar, they allow you to stash your full-size personal care products you use at home—from shampoo and sunscreen to serums and pills—in a labeled, standard hexagonal container that’s leak-proof, dishwasher-safe, and tightly held together in your bag or on the countertop. No more jumbled, travel-sized toilets with leaky, mismatched bottles and tubes.
Cadence pills have gotten some complaints online for being heavy or leaking, but I’ve been using them regularly for about a year—I discuss ditching your daily use products in my guide to How to Pack Your Beauty Routine for Travel-and I haven’t had any leaks. They add weight if you’re trying to travel very light, and because they’re magnetic, they’ll stick to other metal objects. in your toiletry baglike bobby pins or other hair accessories. This can be annoying, especially if you’re already feeling messy or in a hurry.
Otherwise, the Capsules are casual, convenient, and make you feel super organized—the magnetic, interchangeable lid inserts come with permanent labels like “shampoo,” “conditioner,” “cleanser,” and “moisturizer.” Maybe you like this; maybe you don’t. But at least if you buy on Amazon, you can choose the type of label you get (Haircare, Bodycare, Skincare, Daily Routine). If this is not your problem, the Cadence website offers it the seventh set that allows you to customize the color and label of the lid of each Capsule, but the set is not currently for sale.
