MANILA, Philippines – The Senate Committee on Agriculture, Food and Agrarian Reform will hold a hearing on Wednesday, April 8, on the impact of rising oil prices on agricultural and fisheries production.

Agricultural input costs are increasing due to the oil problem and affecting food production in the country. The Department of Agriculture has allocated funds for fuel subsidy and ensures the availability of fertilizers.

The government has repeatedly assured citizens of stable access to these inputs, even in the middle of a declaration of the national energy emergency.
