Victims of Communism Memorial leave out Vietnamese refugees


The arrival of refugees in Canada from Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos was designated as a national historic event in 2023. It is considered by the Canadian government to be of historical importance as it showed how, after the end of the Vietnam War, Canada accepted nearly 200,000 refugees as they were fleeing persecution, according to the federal government.
