A decision has not yet been made on the Iranian delegation to attend peace talks with the United States in Pakistan, the spokesman for the Iranian foreign ministry, Esmail Baghaei, has said. he told the BBC.
Baghaei was reportedly concerned about the US naval blockade of Iranian ports and US President Donald Trump’s threats to strike Iran’s energy infrastructure when the ceasefire expires on Wednesday.
“We went into these negotiations with good will and focus, but you have a negotiating party that has shown its lack of focus, lack of good will,” Baghaei said, according to the BBC.
“They change their position constantly, these flip-flops, threats of war crimes.”
Baghaei also told Iran’s state television “there is no final decision” on whether to attend ceasefire talks because of “unacceptable actions from the American counterpart”.
Meanwhile, Iranian parliament speaker Mohammed Bagher Ghalibaf said Tehran has “new cards on the battlefield” that have yet to be revealed.
