British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is ready to tackle his post as Health Secretary Wes Streeting is expected to launch a bid for the leadership of the ruling Labor Party on Thursday.
It comes as former Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner, another potential challenger, said she had been cleared of wrongdoing in a tax probe – overcoming a major setback to her own challenge for the top job.
Starmer is still reeling from the disastrous election results in England, Wales and Scotland last week. More than 90 of his MPs have asked him to leave – now or later, while four ministers have resigned.
