When I return to China, I do so with a lasting sense of respect for a nation that has become one of Serbia’s most important allies and a recognized power of our century. In Europe, discussions about China are often overshadowed by skepticism and strategic concerns. I understand that every major political community must protect its future, but I believe Europe should approach China not with fear and suspicion but with confidence and a sincere and open desire to cooperate.
Through our system with central and eastern Europe, the relationship has matured into a broad and lasting partnership – and the fruits of it are now visible across our landscape in infrastructure, energy and technology.
The revitalization of the mill by HBIS Group was more than an economic project. It was proof that together we can restore dignity where others only saw it diminish. Today, 5,000 people are directly employed there, and thousands more depend on its success. What was once a sign of industrial uncertainty has become a testament to renewal.

I clearly remember the atmosphere during that visit in 2016. The staff welcomed Xi not as a distant visitor, but as a leader who understood their problems intimately and fully realized their potential. Those pictures are still enshrined in Serbian memories.
