Officials in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) updated the death toll from the Ebola outbreak to 204 on Saturday evening, hours after the Red Cross said three volunteers had died there and Uganda confirmed three new cases of Ebola.
A statement from the Ministry of Health said 204 deaths have been recorded in three states of the large Central African country, from 867 suspected cases.
The latest figures from the World Health Organization (WHO) on Friday put the death toll at 177 from 750 suspected cases.
The WHO has declared the outbreak of highly contagious hemorrhagic fever a global emergency.
On Saturday, the African Union health organization warned that more countries on the continent are at risk of being affected by the Ebola virus, apart from the DRC and Uganda.

“We have 10 countries at risk,” said Jean Kaseya, head of the African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, listing Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Zambia.
