Readers’ interest is already influencing the business plan. A The new Kickstarter launched on July 25th will help expand the opening inventory and pay for custom shelving, lighting and furniture while the founders finalize the lease. Thorhauge and Griffith say they have invested their savings and secured loans and grants, so the store will be open regardless of the outcome of the campaign. Additional funding would determine how the first location fully reflects their plan, however, including a study area, workshop space and an online store.
