Damien Hardwick has blamed two key factors for his side’s 16-point loss against Hawthorn on the Gold Coast.
The Gold Coast coach said his side were undone by Hawthorn’s center dominance, which gave the Hawks four goals, as well as conceding eight goals after turning the ball over in their forward area.
“It was just the Suns killing the Suns,” he said of the front 50 mistakes.
“Don’t get me wrong, Hawthorn played a good game, but we didn’t help ourselves, which is disappointing.
“You’re measured by results, you’re measured by the scoreboard, but our game for most of the night, apart from 20 percent of the ball in the middle, was very strong, to be honest, but we just couldn’t get the results.”
