Your iPhone camera The app will look a little different this season. Monday in his year Worldwide Developers Conference He is in Cupertino, California. Apple showed has rolled out new features in its next version of its mobile operating system, iOS 27, and changes are being made to the camera app.
In particular, instead of just switching between the Photos and Videos tabs, there is now a new option: Secret AI.
Previously, to stimulate Siri Visual Intelligence feature, you had to press the Camera Control button. When you pressed it, Siri could see what you were pointing the iPhone’s camera at and provide contextual assistance—like Google Lens-like adding a date from a festival poster to your calendar or helping to identify a plant. Now that this feature is baked into the camera app, Apple hopes it will be easier to find and use.
This type of AI visual support is a key feature of smart glasses and AI pendants with cameras, which allow users to access AI assistance with a single tap without having to explain or type anything, as the camera does the work. Apple is reportedly working smart glasses as well AirPods with cameras embedded in the trunkso while this computer vision technology is making its debut on the iPhone, it may make its way into other Apple products later.
Then there are a few artificial intelligence features coming to the Photos app that can change the final look of your photos. These include: Cleaning, Expanding, and Refurbishing the space. Clean already exists, allowing you to remove unwanted objects from your photos. Now, it works even better thanks to Apple’s updated AI core designs. It will do a better job of actually filling in the image after removing the object.
Enlarging is for those times when you want to add more space to your image. Using generative AI, if you’re too close to the edge of an image and want a little breathing room, Extend can generate an image based on what it thinks is in the image. Google has also added almost the same features in its Pixel phones in the last few years.
Finally, Apple’s Spatial Reframing feature can change the perspective of an image. You can slightly change the perspective of the image by dragging your finger on the image. Apple also uses generative AI here to fill in some of the gaps from a new perspective. It is not known if this feature is restricted to select iPhones.
This is an ongoing story. Check back later for more updates.
