Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and successive US presidents have spent the better part of the past three decades warning that a nuclear-armed Iran would threaten the entire world. Now, thanks to the illegal US-Israel warIran may be forced to go nuclear in self-defense.
After all, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Israel would justify its secret nuclear weapons program, which began in the 1950s, by claiming Arab states wanted to destroy it. Well, what did US President Donald Trump do? post on Social Reality soon? “The whole civilization will die tonight, it will never come back. I don’t want that to happen, but maybe it will.”
And, speaking of extermination, what Israel has been doing in Gaza and southern Lebanon speaks for itself.
People have long been accustomed to Netanyahu crying wolf and his incessant but alarming warnings about Iran’s nuclear program for almost the entire time he has been in office.
Now, perhaps due to the crimes and atrocities of the joint Israeli-American war, even some Western media have become, if not sympathetic, at least critical of a potentially nuclear-armed Iran. Others warn of a new round of nuclear proliferation among the so-called middle powers.
“Iran didn’t have nuclear weapons before this war. But you can see why it would develop one now,” reads a headline by Guardian columnist Simon Tisdall. “If lawless aggression by ‘nuclear powers’ spreads unchecked, what other options will middle-class countries have?”
