In a statement, Zia Yusuf, Reform UK’s home affairs spokeswoman, said: “Zack Polanski has posted to his 713k Instagram followers a picture of a man wearing a T-shirt depicting the beheading of Nigel Farage.
“Doing this just 2 weeks after our friend Ann was killed is a strange thing. This is an incitement to murder. It should be taken as such by the police,” he said.
Ann Widdecombe, a former Tory minister who was a spokeswoman for Reform England, was found dead at her home in Devon earlier this month. Joshua Kerry, a 28-year-old man, was charged with her murder last week.
Sharing a screenshot, Nigel Farage wrote on X: “If I published anything provocative then I would expect to be arrested, and so was Polanski.”
A spokesperson for Green said: “Zack condemns the image on the T-shirt. He was tagged in a post with 20 images and clicked accept not realizing there was more than he saw.”
The spokesman added that the T-shirt was in poor taste, and said the Greens called on everyone involved in public discourse to “show kindness and not encourage further division.”
The Met Police He said on Monday they had received a third party report regarding a photo shared on social media.
“We take reports of this nature very seriously, and officers are investigating the matter.”
