Did Neymar Jr. get chased by fans into the public washroom? Viral videos create fear, but this is the real story

The Internet loves chaos, but this time, you may have taken things a little too far. A jaw-dropping video purporting to show Neymar Jr. being trapped in a public bathroom by a group of fans has sent shockwaves through social media. The clip is disturbing and uncomfortable, but is it true?

At first glance, the image seems unmistakable, a man who looks exactly like the Brazilian star is squeezed into a toilet stall, surrounded by a crowd of people who need to watch. Phones are picked up, voices are heard, and the atmosphere is heightened by what appears to be fan noise.

A fact check shows that the man in the viral video is not Neymar at all. Instead, it’s his businessman doppelganger, Eigon Oliver, better known online as Sosia Doney. The lookalike uploaded the clip, unwittingly sparking a firestorm of confusion online. Oliver is not only as usual with Neymar, he imitates the whole character of the footballer.

From matching hairstyles and glittering accessories to carefully tailored outfits, she plays the part convincingly. To complete the deception, he even surrounds himself with false assistants, including individuals posing as security officers and teams. So when he casually walked towards the public washroom, the stage aura did the rest. Moments later, viewers believed they were witnessing Neymar in real life. The crowd quickly swelled, and what followed was a chaotic scene that is now going viral online.

Ironically, the timing could not have been better for the confusion. Neymar has been dominating the headlines after his swift return to Brazil’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a decision supported by coach Carlo Ancelotti despite the star’s lengthy injury lay-off.
