Now that’s Amazon The big day is over, it’s time to start preparing for Fourth of July sales. Many big retailers used their summer sales to compete head-to-head with Amazon’s fast schedule, but you can still find great deals on the 4th of July, especially in the used and outdoor categories.
REI is having the hottest sale of the weekend as far as the WIRED Review team is concerned, but there are notable summer sales on other sites we shop, such as The Back Country, The Home Depotand Lululemon. Also, make sure you don’t sleep on the Duer.
The Canadian outdoor clothing brand creates high performance outdoor clothing that incorporates performance features such as Tencel fabric and strategic triple stitching. No Sweat Relaxed Taper Pants it has been a weekly wear for me for years; they’re as comfortable as sweatpants but look stylish enough to wear to a business meeting, while durable enough for a weekend camping trip.
Duer rarely has sales, and prices usually go up to around $100 for pants and $50 for shirts. Those aren’t bad prices, but most people I know won’t build a wardrobe primarily from the $50 price tag. Before the 4th of July, you can save up to 20 percent on a few of the brand’s most popular pants and up to 35 percent on select shorts and long-sleeve shirt styles.
For the past few months, I’ve had a few Duer outfits in rotation: Performance Denim+ OK, Live Lite Traveler Pant, Air Flow Pique Polo, PurePima Just Teeand those mentioned above No Relaxed Sweat Taper.
In addition to my beloved No Sweat pants, a pima cotton tee (styles that is it is for sale) is a big winner. It’s soft and still fits great after two trips through the washer and dryer. It’s getting a lot of attention for being my new favorite black t-shirt. (I’d suggest the brand start claiming it’s the best T-shirt in the world to qualify our men’s shirt shoot.)
Pique polo is also good (the Hazy Mauve color is currently discounted), as it’s highly breathable, holds a stiff collar properly without feeling too stiff, and also holds its shape perfectly through two wash cycles.
