Argentina they played well but missed the chance to win the title they won in Qatar four years ago. However, even after defeat, Lionel Messi’s side will receive a record runners-up prize as FIFA offers its biggest ever World Cup prize money in the expanded 48-team tournament.
The FIFA Council approved a new prize money structure in December 2025 under FIFA president Gianni Infantino. The total prize money was set at $625 million, with an additional $1.5 million paid to each qualifying nation to cover preparation, bringing the total financial contribution to participating teams to $727 million.
So, how much did Spain, Argentina, and each team earn?
Spain will receive $50 million as a performance award prize for winning the FIFA World Cup. It is the highest award in the history of the Men’s World Cup. Argentina will earn $33 million after finishing second. Englandthose who finished third, will receive 29 million dollars, while they take fourth place France it will take $27 million.
