Two-time champion Jon Rahm revealed he has several years left on his LIV golf contract and “doesn’t see much of an exit” after agreeing to a new deal that allows him to play on the DP World Tour.
The 31-year-old Spaniard, a former world number one, spoke Tuesday ahead of this week’s LIV Golf Virginia event at Trump National in Washington.
Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), which had pledged long-term support for the series, said last week it would release the funding after the 2026 campaign ends, plunging the inaugural round into uncertainty over its future beyond this year.
But while the vexed question of how LIV players can return to the PGA Tour has dominated golf in recent weeks, Rahm said he remained locked into his lucrative contract.
“I’ve got a couple of years left on my contract and I’m sure they did a really good job drafting that, so I don’t see much of a way out,” Rahm said.
“As of right now, I’m not thinking about it because we still have a season to play and major things to compete for. So it’s not something I want to think about right now.”
