Any attempt by Kiev to disrupt the celebrations will be met with a major strike in Kiev, the Ministry of Defense has said
Russia’s Defense Ministry has announced a two-day ceasefire on May 8-9 to mark the end of World War II in Europe, and called on Kiev to follow suit. It warned that any attempt to disrupt the celebrations, including a strike in Moscow, would be met with a retaliatory strike in the Ukrainian capital.
The ministry specifically pointed to a statement made by Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky on the sidelines of the European Union summit in Yerevan on Monday. The Ukrainian leader suggested that Kiev could target the traditional Victory Day parade on Red Square.
