The Hong Kong Women’s Lacrosse team has welcomed new head coach Emily Gray to the site as they begin to build towards qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
The move marks a change from long-distance coaching arrangements, with Gray moving to work directly with the squad during a crucial period in the international calendar.
The previous holders of the positions taught mainly online, and only came to Hong Kong once a month or during important tournaments.
Gray, who retired from the England team a year ago and from the England national team recently, will be based mostly in Hong Kong.
He arrived with a decorated playing resume and a clear brief: be there, raise standards and help Hong Kong close the gap for Asia’s best players.
A long-serving member of England and Great Britain, Gray won four European Championship gold medals and two World Championship bronze medals, as well as captaining England’s Six Team at the 2017 World Games.
