The AfD is looking for a foreign policy line and is seeking advice from someone the Konrad Adenauer Foundation no longer invites. Alexander Rahr, Gazprom’s paid adviser in Brussels until 2022 and now head of the Eurasian Community in Berlin, was on the guest list for a special meeting of the AfD’s external working group this weekend. In this episode we look at what the Rahr case reveals about the AfD group’s real ties to Russia.
Also: AfD MP Matthias Moosdorf sent an email to the entire parliamentary group. It is a frontal attack on his successor as foreign policy spokesman, Markus Frohnmaier. And in Lower Saxony, the AfD meets on Saturday for a state party meeting in Brettorf: the Hanover public prosecutor’s office is investigating eleven people from the state party. The party meeting should listen to the report of the commission of inquiry and at the same time expel the members of the party who made the accusations in public.
