From giving up childhood dreams for revenge-buying toys, the The “heal our inner child” agenda. has been in full operation in recent years. While I accept the appeal of this trend, my main focus is the concept of bringing out my inner teenager: shy but fearless, sad but cheerful, naive but bright-eyed, and has a mental almanac of the best hangout spots (by his standards, of course) around town.

Instead of worrying about material things, I have decided to celebrate the younger phase of my life by revisiting the places that raised me. Although many of these parts have changed significantly – and some have been replaced elsewhere – the experience was not rewarding, especially when I brought my vivo X300 FE and tested the high-end smartphone for the first time.

How did the vivo X300 FE fare as a companion down memory lane? It exceeded my expectations.

A loyal and committed sidekick

Besides being immediately impressed by the Mist Purple colorway (it’s so easy on the eyes!), one of the first things I noticed with the vivo X300 FE was how easy it was to carry, without the worry of slipping on my fingers. Among the new phone designs I’ve tried to hold, this one feels perfect for me – someone with small hands and a big bag. The last thing I would want is a heavy and scary phone.

Do not discount the soft texture of the body, either, because it is far from fragile. This simple phone carries a scratch-resistant and durable case, allaying my worries about my devices getting damaged while traveling or running from place to place.

The main hall gives off a strong “Backroom” energy.

Before Makati Cinema Square was announced as ok ok part lover and part vinyl collector for crate digging, it was my comfort zone. It was home to a clinic that I frequented as a teenager and was a frequent family lunch spot. Now, the main thing that connects my past and present life is the old football and billiards field, where I spent my teenage years and early 20s.

I was really skeptical about the vivo X300 FE capturing the charm of this place, and thought that it would just end up looking like a gray ghost town. But its stellar combination of 50MP ZEISS main camera and 50MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera did justice to its unique and fun atmosphere, despite the low light and sometimes complex frame architecture.

Outside of MCS, I also tried a variety of telephoto lengths, ranging from 1x (23mm) to 4.3x (100mm). In addition to delivering beautiful colors and well-defined details, the phone’s bokeh effect for close-up shots definitely leaves a satisfying impression.

An interesting microcinema in a historical space

Whether for relaxation or escapism, I always went to the movies whenever I faced the difficult and messy feelings of youth. In college, you can see me at the Cinematheque Manila Center in Kalaw after class, getting the next free (or cheap) screening.

Now standing in Intramuros, I felt more excitement wandering around, as it also means being surrounded by rich history and heritage. From vivid colors to scenic shots, it was a pleasure to capture details with the vivo X300 FE.

A few blocks from the Cinematheque is the Baluarte de San Diego. Since I had spent many field trips here already, I thought I’d rethink it through the Creative AI Camera.

The most loved gem in the middle of the world

I have a soft spot for the Cubao Fair, as it always reminds me of my favorite summer of 2015 and days as a high school student.

A friend tagged me on a random weeknight, and we decided to play around with the Creative AI Camera too – after all, the possibilities are endless when you’re in the middle of the world.

A great place to play on a Friday

Of course, my goal of obsessing over my teenage life wouldn’t be complete without something that kept me sane: gigs. Although it’s sad that most of my main places are closed, I thought I could still relive the feeling through my current go-to: 123Block in Mandaluyong.

I ended my week with live shows that take over my playlists. This is where I also decided to try the X300 FE Stage Mode. Powered by the AI Transparency Engine, this feature provided rich detail, allowing me to feel immersed in the show, despite being away from the stage.

Immerse yourself in a familiar yet new experience

The vivo X300 FE’s cutting-edge design and performance allowed me to drift away without pure nostalgia alone; each repeat visit felt like unlocking a new experience. The cherry on top? My smartphone was able to keep up with my energy throughout the day, thanks to its 6500mAh BlueVolt battery (it didn’t even drop to 50% after two days of shooting) and the high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor.

Are you itching to make your own schedule of teen hangouts? Vivo X300 FE starting at P54,999and can be found on Shopee, Lacingand TikTok Store. This unit can also come with vivo’s new ZEISS Teleconverter Gen 2, packed with excellent zooming capabilities for photography and videography enthusiasts. – Rappler.com
