
Columbian pop star Shakira has released the song ‘Dai Dai’ for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 49-year-old singer, known for her hits such as ‘Anytime, Anywhere’ and ‘Hips Don’t Lie’, is set to release the new song on May 14. With ‘Dai Dai’, Shakira will participate in the fourth FIFA tournament. The World Cup begins on June 11, with Mexico taking on South Africa at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. The tournament will end on July 19.
On May 7, Shakira shared a one-minute video on Instagram from Maracaná Stadium in Rio de Janeiro to tease the song. The singer wrote, “From Maracaná Stadium, here’s “Dai Dai,” Official Anthem of @fifaworldcup 2026. Coming 5/14. We’re ready!” The song ‘Dai Dai’ which means “Come, come” in Italian, will also feature Nigerian singer Burna Boy.
Shakira first performed a special version of ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ at the closing ceremony of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Berlin, Germany. After that, he made his first collaboration with FIFA for the official World Cup song ‘Waka Waka’ for the 2010 tournament in South Africa. This was followed by the theme song ‘La La La’ for the 2014 tournament, which he performed at the closing ceremony in Rio de Janeiro.

The 23rd edition of the FIFA World Cup will be held in Canada, Mexico, and the United States in 16 venues. A total of 48 nations will compete for the trophy in the 39-day tournament. The 2026 FIFA World Cup will begin in Mexico and conclude in the United States.
