Always searching Underscoring its aeronautical pedigree, Omega has once again teamed up with Swatch to produce another limited edition MoonSwatch Omega’s proprietary 18K Moonshine Gold alloy.

It is called Mission to the Moon 1969the clock is a reminder of Apollo 11 moon landing on July 21, 1969. It is limited, accordingly, to 1,969 numbered pieces and comes with a black-and-gold version of Swatch’s upgraded MoonSwatch rubber straps.

Swatch says the gold used for these limited editions dates back to 1969, coming from old Omega parts that have been melted down in the company’s own factory. In 1969, 11 grams of 18K gold of course cost $11, so Swatch decided to price the gold in this MoonSwatch based on the gold price on July 21, 1969, rather than today’s gold price. This means Mission to the Moon 1969 sells for about $620.
