‘Tears of gratitude’ as Vanieer clinic enrolls hundreds


Mankal hopes the clinic can eventually expand, but for now it’s focused on bringing primary care to Vanier and Overbrook residents, some of whom have gone a decade or more without it. Not only does the area have the lowest level of connectivity to basic services of any neighborhood in the city, but it also has the highest levels of material deprivation. By 2024, approximately 14,000 residents were without primary care.
