The Hong Kong Jockey Club and tech giants Lenovo have promised to “rock the city” after jointly launching a “home of football” campaign for the upcoming World Cup finals.
Designed to “bring the world’s biggest party to Hong Kong”, the initiative will begin in earnest when the world’s most famous player attends the second of four themed nights at Happy Valley Racecourse on Wednesday.
Officials did not say who the player was, but pointed to his star power beyond the game.
Lenovo, the official technology partner of the Fifa 2026 World Cup, will have an AI-powered football zone at the stadium that “features interactive experiences and digital activations (to show) how technology is changing sports performance, event operations and fan engagement”.
Hong Kong will be the only city outside of the tournament’s host regions where fans can experience the Lenovo location.

“Football fever has already started around the world, and here in Hong Kong,” said Casper Stylsvig, executive director, sports business, of the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), as he announced “a strategic alliance aimed at embracing innovation, entertainment and fan engagement”.
