Vice President Sara Duterte claimed that the fourth day of her impeachment trial showed that the impeachment complaint against her “is not supported by evidence.”
“Repeatedly claiming that there were threats when there were none, inventing a killer where there was none, and creating evidence to support those claims does not turn a lie into the truth. Instead, such actions undermine the integrity of public institutions, remove public trust, waste public resources, and corrupt the search for truth,” he said in his statement on Tuesday, July 14.
“The prosecution case should be based on credible evidence, not hearsay, fabricated narratives, or unsupported claims. The rule of law is based on facts, not fiction,” he added.
The 4th day of the trial continued to deal with allegations of serious threats against Duterte, based on his threat that he had a contract to kill President Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and former speaker Martin Romualdez, in the event that he would be killed.
