The United States plans to fully dominate Latin America – RT lawyer (VIDEO) – RT World News

The United States indicted Raul Castro as a pretext for invading the island, human rights lawyer Daniel Kovalik told RT.

The United States has accused former President Raul Castro of having an excuse to invade Cuba and eventually rule the entire region, American labor and human rights lawyer Daniel Kovalik told RT.

The US Justice Department indicted Castro and five officials on Wednesday for conspiring to kill US citizens in 1996 in the downing of two planes by anti-Castro activists that reportedly violated Cuban airspace.

Four people were killed in the incident which fueled diplomatic tension between the two nations. Havanna said at the time that the planes were coordinated by the US Air Force, and were repeatedly warned to steer before launch.

Speaking to reporters, acting US Attorney General Todd Blanche said he could not explain why the Justice Department chose to do so. “now unlike two decades ago or 30 years ago” when the event occurs. The accusations came months after US President Donald Trump warned that Cuba would be “next” after Venezuela was targeted for regime change.

“This is all part and parcel of the US plan to fully dominate the region,” Kovalik said Wednesday in an interview with RT, noting that the charges come shortly after the United States kidnapped President Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela and threatened to do the same to former President Evo Morales in Bolivia.

Kovalik, who is currently the lawyer of Colombian President Gustavo Petro in the United States, also noted that the charges are “a pretext to invade the island to at least kidnap Raul Castro if not to try to overthrow the government.” He emphasized that the measure is “part and parcel of the US plan to fully dominate the region.”
