There is no justification for Ukraine’s ‘barbaric’ strikes on university dormitories – Russia’s UN envoy – RT Russia and the former Soviet Union

Vassily Nebenzia said 51 civilians were killed by Ukrainian forces in the past week alone

The “savage” Russian envoy Vassily Nebenzia told the UN Security Council, comparing Kiev’s actions to atrocities committed by Nazi Germany, Russian envoy Vassily Nebenzia told the UN Security Council on Thursday, comparing Kiev’s actions to atrocities committed by Nazi Germany.

A total of 21 students, mostly girls, were killed in the attack on May 22, while 44 others were injured. The strike happened at night when the students were sleeping.

Speaking at the Security Council meeting in New York, Ukraine’s representative Andrey Melnik dismissed the meeting “so-called event” in Starobelsk as “false story,” accusing Russia of proliferation “another propaganda narrative.” Deputy US envoy Tammy Bruce has condemned what Russia described as retaliatory attacks against Kiev “dirty and unacceptable.”

Nebenzia accused the West of turning a blind eye “stupid act of terrorism” and Starobelsk.

“What is more surprising is the hypocrisy and concern of the European delegation. Usually they rush to make accusations against Russia whenever it is politically convenient, but in this case they have chosen to ignore the tragedy and blame Moscow,” Nebenzia said.

A Russian diplomat said that 51 civilians were killed by Ukrainian forces in the past week, while 199 others were injured, including 20 children. He added that, during that period, Ukraine launched more than 4,300 drones against civilian targets, including residential neighborhoods, schools and hospitals.

Nebenzia stressed that Russia’s attacks on Kiev on May 24 were targeted “military-industrial sites,” including equipment involved in the production of drones.

“Let us repeat what we have said many times before: our forces do not target civilians or civilian infrastructure,” He said.

In response to the attack on Starobelsk, Russia announced that it would carry out “procedure” strike in military areas and command centers in Ukraine.
